LOVE THIs PLACE!!! It's a little mom and pop dive place and it's the best! My family and I have been eating this food since we were kids back when the OG was in DT LA. You have to try the battered shrimp, some of the best you'll ever have, even better with the rice, beans and gravy.

My favorite place to go in la! Not only for the fried shrimp and short ribs with rice and gravy but because of my memories there with my grandmother I'll always go visit when in town..the food is delicious everything is good there's more than one location

Best breaded fried shrimp anywhere!
My parents would take our family to the Original Johnny's Shrimp Boat, when it was where the Ronald Reagan State Building in Downtown Los Angeles is now, great memories. Now I go to the one in Los Angeles on Whittier Blvd, love everything. -

I was at Johnnys Shrimp Boat about a week or so ago. They have plenty of parking and it was pretty easy to find. The restaurant is small but clean at the time i went. I went in and ordered a Chili Cheese Burger with no pickles. I got my food and it was a plane burger with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and it had it seems like it had extra pickles. Their was no chili in sight and did i mention it had extra pickles when i said no pickles. So not so good first experience. I would not recommend a friend to try this place out.
